New screensaver

First video post! Hopefully this isn't too lame- this screensaver is called hyperspace, it's perfect for a trekkie like myself. Lots of wormholes and flying around space. My head hurts from studying, i shouldn't watch this saver too long either lol

We are equal because we are no longer different

The mural in the hallway of parina lounge has this section which i really like. There's a lot more of it, but i like the gender neutral message from this part, which conveys that only our character and heart should differentiate us from each other. The jellyfish are nice too. I studied for 8ish hours for my combinatorics test tomorrow morning, i hope i do well.

My ant farm

Loyola village is so much fun to watch. Random people i don't know scurrying around. So today i saw the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy and it was brilliant. Subtle and humorous :) this week is going to be ridiculous, but the coming weekend will be a nice reprieve. Until then, though, i have much to do.

The view from the afternoon

After studying in the law school library, i wanted to go see the sculpture garden in kalmanovitz hall, but the door was oddly locked. Instead, i went up to the fourth floor and took this picture from the glass meeting room up there. I want to bring my hddvd player up there and hook it up to the 60" lcd up there. It would be fun i think

Golden gate park

Stopped by the park with Bunny this afternoon so she could take pictures of the playground where she'd put her public art piece for a project. Tonight i was working on math homework with Igor and georgina at my apartment so we could watch the debate. Then we ordered some pizza and called it a night.

Most of my semester

Is governed by these two courses. History of mathematics with tristan and combinatorics with stillwell. Tests next week in both are scary prospects. I've been working hard in both classes, but the concepts are kind of all over the place. I'm sure it'll be fine next week. Bunny's really cute when she sings songs to me :) we had a nice philosophical discussion on what makes a band considered rock. The winners? The beatles, rolling stones, the who, kiss, and more modernly jet, the killers, the vines... Good music all around, koo koo ka choo!

Late last night

So last night i heard a police siren go off. I went into the living room, and there was this car, doors wide open with cops searching for drugs. Two guys and a girl sitting on the sidewalk - being questioned for about an hour, and being let go. I saw the cops with a small bag (drugs) and the boys signed something and were set on their way. It was funny to watch the good cop bad cop dynamic from up above- it was like cops on tv. I wonder what you have to say to get away with being caught red-handed? It just doesn't make much sense to me.

Like a moth on the wall

After a heated ethics class, i stood up from my seat and noticed a moth that appeared to have been nestled in my seat for the past 2 hours. Bunny took this picture as my guest photographer for the day. It's quite a stunning photo and thoroughly presents the abilities of my phone i think. Thanks Bunny!

Not really, but apparently there's some union activity on campus demanding more respect- or something. This is an on-going thing so i guess i'll know more in coming days. Also, cancer was cured in canada last year.

Blood orange soda

I got this yesterday with Bunny from safeway- it's organic blood orange italian soda. It tastes like sourer orange soda, but still nice and sweet. It's got a lot of sugar, not that that really bothers me all that much. Oh and i'll have a better pic of my haircut tomorrow since it's kind of dark right now to try and take one of myself.

Omg it's all gone!

Today i finally got a haircut after months of fighting with myself. Bunny stood by and took some pictures to commemorate this incredible event. After the cut, the cosmotologist remarked, "5 pounds lighter" and we all laughed. Good times

New shoes!

Just got a nice pair of guess casual slip ons. I think they're pretty snazzy. I always find it funny how i end up taking a larger size every time i buy a pair of shoes. But these are nice because they're not as solid as my steve maddens. I really like the long toe style now that i'm on my second pair. Hungry and tired, this day is ending.

Best jelly

Marie brought home a box of jellies and preserves made by the monks of st joseph's abbey one day last week. I've liked the taste of elderberries since i had this odd berry wine called carpe diem a long time ago. It's got a tart, almost pom flavor to it, but a nice sweetness as well. I need to get some peanut butter to try with it.

Sushi boats!

Just got home from the first Sushi boat place in the city. We got there with 3 mins until closing so we had to grab all our food super fast. So much awesome! Homework was super easy once it clicked-still have some reading to do though. Nice and full so maybe i'll finish it all tonight

Spca was downtown and had little baby kittens and they were so cute! I'd name it nomnom cuz i'd wanna eat it! Except not but they're so cute. There were two other cute gray kittens i was talking to, but they were too feisty to take a nice picture. I donated 2 dollars to them :) so cute!

The weirdest elevator

I have to say that this is the oddest elevator I've been in, the walls are some trippy sanded metal texture. Kalmanovitz hall is an odd building. I want it to just be open for real, not all this construction stuff.

The trilogy

Three of my favorite movies ever, and in high def too! Bunny and i watched eleven last night again- like my 20th time seeing the movie but i still love it each time. The soundtracks are timeless too-i'm using a track from twelve as my ringtone. The 8gig card is working nicely in the phone-i have access to so much music all the time now! New on my wishlist is a bluetooth receiver to stream music to my stereo. It was a wonderful weekend and should be a petty great week too i think.

Entertainment central

My collection of audio/visual/computer gear. Over the years i've put together a pretty good setup in my bedroom- 27" lcd, 5.1 speaker system, hd-dvd player, wii, bookshelf stereo set, and my awesome desktop. When i'm controlling it all from my harmony remote i'm in a little bit of heaven. My room is a sanctuary for gadgets and i have so much fun getting everything just right. And yes, there's a vcr in there too.

Flash memory

Just got my new 8gb microsd card, now officially the largest flash device i own. It's also the smallest, even when compared to the m2 card. Now to fill it up with music and such and get even more functionality out of my new phone!

Jonas Damon Numbers

Bunny gave me this clock for valentine's day this year. It seriously is one of if not the coolest things i now own. It's perfect in styling and fits awesomely into my decor. I love re-arranging the numbers in ways that confuse people when they look at it. They're like, what does 41 o'clock mean? 1.40 obviously.

The best chocolate

My favorite bar in recent months is this dark chocolate with espresso. It's got the rich melty flavor of good dark chocolate with a nutty espresso flavor of coffee. The little kick of caffeine is nice too. As a side note, brain tonique is a non-caffeinated energy drink made from agave nectar is fantastic! More to follow on another day.

New toy at work

Dell latitude e6400 notebook. This thing is pretty darn awesome looking- I love getting to do this for my job- basically I get to play with this guy for the next two months to see how it performs, though I can't imagine it not exceeding my expectations. As a side note, my macbook for work stopped charging- so now that is off my desk for a while. All this really makes me feel is that I want a new laptop, or at least a new battery for my 3 year old vaio.

Magic garden

Easily one of the coolest toys i never had as a kid. Basically the kit has some pieces of cardboard that you arrange and then pour the magic water on. Over 6 hours these super fine crystals grow on the saturated cardboard. When it's done it looks super cool, but has the durability of a dust bunny. Nevertheless, Bunny and i had a blast growing this set. I totally want to grow a forest out of these things.

The writing on the stairs

So this was taken yesterday, but the writing is still there. The second quote is from Ralph Sockman, not sure about the first, but they were positive enough and i was taken aback when i saw them initially. I'm not used to useful writings of chalk. Peace and love :)

Chocolate festival

Ghiradelli chocolate festival today, lots of samples of yummy snacks- kinda pricey, but it's for charity. I wish the ice cream lines were shorter though- had to resort to the brownie samples instead. It's unfortunate that everyone was packing their stuff up early. Overall fun though

Pizza tracker

Totally awesome for ordering pizzas. I'm very suprised at this whole system, because it makes it so dominos can't slack on orders. How true it is is debateable, but it's kinda cool to watch for a while- until it freezes and stops updating at least. Yay for pizzas though.

Ugly statue

Hermes and dionysus monument to analysis- this is an odd piece of work. Deconstructed version of a classic statue. Working with Bunny on her project regarding the ugliest public monuments in the city, Interviewing people's opinions about it. I would prefer the original piece

The start of the semester

This semester I'm taking 4 courses; The History of Mathematics (Math 310), Combinatorics (Math 422), Ethcis (Philosophy 240), and Second Semester French (French 102). My initial impressions of each are as follows: History of Math - while certainly not an easy course, I think that history of math will be a very interesting course and I'll be learning things that my professors talk about all the time. Combinatorics - this course is going to sneak up on me I think - While it appears to be glorified counting on the surface - this class is going to be significantly complicated. Ethics - Arguing for 2 hours each class twice a week? What's not to love - Ethics: where being confused means you're doing it right. French - well, meh, I can do it alright, it'll just be some extra studying.
