Finished off the birthday cake ice cream in this glorious sundae :) Went shoe shopping today but didn't find any ones i liked, I'll probably order a specific pair i wanted online. I got a new old cd though- Moon Safari by Air- a 10 year old electronic album that's still fantastic. I also played with twitter a lot- trying to make it more useful to my daily life, but I'll need more friends on it first.

Even though I've never owned a mac, glancing through the last several months of this blog will reveal my affinity for their aesthetics. Here is a G5 intel mac pro that's going to have it's motherboard replaced- i wish i could have done that part myself. Anyway i think it's beautiful and got a hankering to build a pc from looking at there internals, it's easily the most complicated system I've seen in a modern desktop. Although apparently old g5's were water cooled i was told, or maybe it was g4's... Today was the last day of the first week of school, so i celebrated by working on my homework! Study groups are awesome. Also, big hooray- my blog is now the first result for a google search of "john roscigno", which is a credit to everyone that has tried to find me in recent months, so thank you all :) Have a great weekend, check back tomorrow for my next picture!

Want to know the easiest way to get your dirtbike run over? It's not that it's parked longitudinally to the other cars, it's that this bike is parked so far back it's behind the others! Class was fine and sufficiently interesting- albeit the course seems to be reversing what i learned in differential equations- but in a good way. I finally had some homework, musing over the consequences of living in a society that places weight on that which we call race. But that's for class, not this blog. Here, all are welcome and appreciated for the unique insight they could bring to my life, so please, feel free to comment on my photos and my musings, i enjoy reading them.

So the week is half over and I've gone to my classes and can give some opinions. Race Issues should be an interesting philosophy class if for no other reason than that the professor's self stated goal is to confuse us about how race plays into our daily lives through historical and social, medical and biological standpoints. Probability and Statistics will be good because Paul Zeitz is a pretty famous mathematician and really great with people. Likewise, my special topics class, Non-linear Dynamics and Chaos should be fascinating because of Stephen Yeung's teaching style and thoroughness. Adulthood and aging rounds off my psychology minor with a look into how the aging process is as much a developmental cycle as adolescence. So those are my courses- I'll let you know when things get crazy. Also, I've added comments to the blog- see the bottom of each post- feel free, and I encourage you, to leave me your thoughts on my ramblings. I look forward to hearing from you!

What once had a nice black housing has been reduced to duct and electrical tape. I put the 4 on it to indicate storage capacity for when this eventually gets lost-i hope it doesn't though. Today was day 1 of the school year, and overall i'm pretty happy. Tomorrow will bring a complete overview of my courses, but for now i can say i'm not dreading the semester at least. Also, i couldn't post a pic of my new Obama Change campaign poster because the one i got is kind of shabby looking and really pixelated- so i'm disappointed about it.

So tomorrow is finally back to school, after a false start last thursday, i think I'm pretty ready to go back, I just wish I didn't have to be out until 5 tomorrow- then again, I only have one class on Tuesday so it kinda works out. Tomorrow's schedule is: philosophy of the human person; race, probability and statistics, work and then psychology of adulthood and aging. Should be an interesting but really long day.

Bunny and I were exploring downtown and found a tea store called lupicia in the mall. It was nice to find a place that sold leaves since i bought the teapot a few weeks ago. We opted for the fruity black teas here- kiwi and framboise. We tasted the kiwi and honestly i think the fruit is just an aromatic for the tea, but maybe it's because i haven't tasted enough "real" tea to pick up on other flavors. At any rate, it's still better than bagged tea, and it does smell really nice.

Bunny and I made fondue tonight, and it was really tasty. We also learned that sterno burners aren't the best way to heat the cheese mix :P All in all, the food was really good, but i think we'll quick to chaolate from now on, way easier- and less mess too. We just watched a documentary about pixar, which was pretty fascinating. The start of the company was really rough, and the rise to their present notoriety was quite splendid.

This little minie-mo was discovered by Marie this afternoon near usf's campus. Rescued from certain peril, Eeniemeenie has found a home with us and will forever more be lavished in luxury. On another note, classes didn't actually start today, they start on Monday- i really wish someone would have sent me that memo because i was REALLY confused when i showed up for class this morning and found myself all alone. Oh well, 2 more days of vacation are welcomed i guess.

This beautiful car is a Tesla Roadster. It's an all electric vehicle based on the lotus elise body, but this one can go 250 miles on a single charge using no gasoline-awesome. The best part is that since it is electric, the motor is virtually silent! Orders for this $120,000 car have been sold out since 2006, but new models are planned for the future. There are 650 Teslas reserved in the USA currently, but less than that are actually on the road- to put that in respective, there are roughly 300 million cars in the US as of this writing, so the odds of finding a Tesla are 1:460,000. Awesomely rare car. Also today, Lauren and her friend Marci came into the city to visit. Th restaurant I wanted to go to stopped serving lunch at 3, and we got there at 3.15 unfortunately. So we ate at a little italian cafe and had a nice time catching up. Beyond that, quiet day- school starts tomorrow! My first class: Non-linear Dynamics and Chaos.

The sidebar on the right is a program called rainmeter that allows for various widgets to tell me system info, calendar, and give me email notifications. The giant clock is called arcs. This system takes a while to set up, but looks great i think. Necessary? No, but it makes use of my big monitor. Bigger Screenshot (via flickr)

I didn't get the flavor i really wanted. Back when i was little, there was an ice cream shop in Montreal that had superman ice cream, which is strawberry, banana and blue moon flavored. Unfortunately, it's pretty much only available online for the west coast, an 70 dollars for 3 gallons of ice cream seems a bit desperate. So this is birthday cake ice cream, with frosting swirls and spinkles. It's tasty, but not superman.

This is a picture from a fascinating game called auditorium. The premise is simple, use special orbs to direct the stream of light into the recepticles. As the meters fill, music plays, and each recepticle corresponds to a different sound. In later stages, different colors and orbs create amazing visual and auditory effects that i find more satisfying than just about any game i've played recently, and here's the kicker, this is only a demo-the full game, which will be free also, hasn't been released yet. I anticipat that day very much. Www.playauditorium.com :)

I've been listening to these discs for a few hours and while I prefer the relax disc to the revive one, they're both nice mixes that i'm happy to have. Basically this cd series profiles music from different locations and presents them in these nice sets. Today has been a remarkably lazy one, but i'm not complaining :)

Alright so EVE never really wiggled in Wall-E, but this plush toy I got at disneyland last month is so darn cute i wish it did! My love for this movie exceeds probably every other film- to the point where I told Bunny i wouldn't watch it again until I could see it on my Own blu-ray player, which i successfully completed after christmas :) As of yet, it's still the only blu-ray movie i've decided to buy, netflix can handle the rest, but Wall-E is worth owning :) And behind the case you can make out some of my Star Trek: The Next Generation dvds- i have all 7 seasons. So I guess i'm fessing up, I'm a trekkie

5,8,13,21 :) i made salmon for dinner with wild rice and zucchini. Also, i'm seriously contemplating buying a shirt from the label "johnny cupcakes" simply because the name is so great. Also, school starts a week from today, so as of this time next week, I'll be posting a lot about my school routine i'm sure.

So i drew some pictures of computers at a job where i work on computers- i know, totally unexpected right? Beyond that i'm enjoying my days off while i still have them, watching star trek and movies from netflix and spending as much time with Bunny as possible. I hope we can be together tomorrow :) school starts in a week- but i think i'm ready to go back.

So i don't have anything else to post, and today Marie told me that PETA wants to re-name fish "sea kittens". I did this painting as a freshman (i think) based on some album art from a cd i liked. I made a small painting of a turtle in this style for Bunny too. It's the only really artistic thing i've done that hangs on my walls.

Tonight we tasted heaven. Bunny, Marie, Nick, I were treated to a fantastic meal by my Uncle Robert. Here's the story of how this all happened; On Thursday, Bunny & I were looking through restaurants on Yelp and on a whim made a reservation at Gary Danko's. Within 20 minutes, we received an emailed response telling us that there were no reservations for 5 on Sunday. So we made another reservation at a different restaurant and planned to go there. On Sunday afternoon around 4 pm, I received a phone call from Gary Danko's - there was a cancellation! Marie & Nick were sitting in her room and when I told them that we could have a reservation they both cheered out "YEAH! Gary Danko's!" - so I took the reservation and that was that. I proceeded to call my Bunny & my Uncle to let them know of the change in plans. When we arrived that the restaurant (early, we had to take it all in), we sat at the bar for a while waiting for Uncle Robert to meet us. The Maître d' saw that we had arrived and asked if I was the one she had spoken to on the phone. She told us that since we were so enthusiastic about getting our reservation, she was going to treat us extra special that night :) So we got our table and the waiters gave us not one, but TWO amuse bouches - a small piece of venison with a horseradish cream sauce, and a blini with smoked salmon and caviar. The dinner was fantastic and super filling and delicious and I hope that we can go back someday. The slideshow has pictures of our 4 courses.

This is the second tshirt i've gotten with a phoenix graphic on it. The other one is dark red colored with a firebird on it :) I actually ordered a third tonight- with a baby phoenix sitting on a pile of ashes and smoke in the shape of a phoenix rising behind it. I tried out Windows 7 today, but decided not to keep it on my machine. Anyway- the best part of the day was definitely pancakes with Bunny this morning :)

With the advent of my re-built desktop, i've taken to not pirating music anymore. I guess paying for stuff is better in the long run, but i'll still look for the cheapest cd i can buy rather than just buying stuff on a whim. That saved me 16 yesterday when i ordered Destination Lounge: San Francisco, which I am happily anticipating. It's 2009, who said physical media was dead?

Today we went to Macworld, Bunny, Teenie and I. With the underwhelming that was the apple keynote, the expo was a great source for a ton of free stuff, but less amazing as previous years have been touted. Some highlights: the modbook touchscreen mac, the delorean from techrestore and the demo for fluid mask software. Hope you like the pictures!

Tomorrow is MacWorld 2009, the last time Apple will have a keynote address at the expo, and Bunny, Teenie and I are attending :) Unfortunately we don't have tickets to hear the keynote live, but we get to visit the 500 vendors at the expo. There's a little bit of a new look to my blog tonight after some design influences by the film Helvetica - the documentary about the typeface of the same name. It was a pretty fantastic look at how design has been influenced over the part 50 years since its introduction. At any rate, I'll probably be making a few changes to the blog in the near future. Also, Joe came over for a while this afternoon, it was really nice to have a visit from him :)

I bought this small teapot to brew some real tea- now i need to learn about tea enough to choose some tasty ones, particularly black teas :) I spent time with mom and dad before they left for Napa today, we had a nice lunch downtown at the mall. I hope they have a great trip. Tomorrow i'm hanging out with Bunny and Teenie, and on Tuesday we're going to Macworld!

My new sony digital picture frame next to my jonas damon digital clock. It's really nice to have constant reminders of great memories- pictures of family and loved ones and the clock is my wonderful valentine's present from Bunny last year. My room reflects a great combination of life and technology, and suits me wonderfully

So today i received my blu-ray drive for my pc, thus completing my media tri-fecta of hd-dvd, blu-ray and netflix :) tonight Bunny and I achieved my goal of my first blu-ray viewing being my favorite movie of 2008, Wall-E! It was amazing, and my life will be enriched by thriving high-def media. Also, we made another pizza with olives and mushrooms. Today was pretty awesome. To top it off, my b+ in french was actually an a-, sweet!

Happy new year! Bunny and I spent the afternoon exploring the Academy of Sciences which was pretty great- I really liked the rainforest exhibit with all the different kinds of reptiles and the aquarium was pretty good too. This is a green basilisk, it heard the sound of my camera and looked right at the lens :) After the museum Bunny and I came home and made pesto pizza yum! Tonight's movie? Dr. Dolittle of course!
