Wishing I had a box of macarons in the fridge - these ones from Europane in Pasadena looked really nice, but didn't taste as good as the ones from Paulette's.

A Very Scion Weekend

Lately there have been a lot of posts about my adventures in geocaching, so this weekend I decided to spend some time with one of my other hobbies, my car.
First up is my new taillight bulbs, now with LEDs. Unfortunately, they're having issues and have to be replaced before they can stay in the car.

Because we don't see enough of me

Bunny took some phenomenal photos of me last week, I wanted to share a few.
Taken during a geocaching hike in Mentryville
All of the rest of the photos are from our trip back to "The Old Lunchbox" geocache in the Hollywood Hills.  The views from that trip led to the panoramas posted last week.  As always on these adventures, I'm looking for a perfect shot to take.

Globe Lamp

While I still have a desire to own a Philips Living Colors lamp (Amazon Link), the cost is slightly prohibitive for what is in essence an accent lamp.  Over Christmas I received a new LED lighting kit for my car, and I had the old LED tubes lying around my garage.  An afternoon of creativity later (mostly spent finding an acceptable AC adapter to power the thing) yielded my new Color Changing, Sound Reactive, Globe Lamp.
Here you can see it's internal workings (slightly modified now, the top section is now unobstructed so the light shines brighter.
And it doesn't make a whole lot of sense without the video:

Sunset over Los Angeles

Taken with my Lumix FZ28 (composite of 6 photos & edited for cleaner color)

The full size of this image is around 11,000 x 2,100 (around 30" long) - email me if you really want the full resolution image.
