Adventures in Driving Part 237

Last weekend I had the misfortune of being caught in the snowstorm that hit the Grapevine (that's CA I-5 between Valencia and Bakersfield). I got on the mountain just after 6 pm, and by 7 pm not far away from Frazier Park, this was my view:
I then proceeded to...well, I didn't proceed. I was stuck in this traffic moving literally 1/2 mile over the next hour. By 7:30 pm it was clear that the road probably wasn't going to be moving much that night; so my dad and I started trying to figure out what I was going to do. The map of my journey is below, and it took me until 11pm to get home that night. It wasn't all terrible; I never got stuck in the snow or ice, and got off of the freeway, which ened up being closed until 9:30 am the next morning. Hundreds of people slept in their cars trapped on the freeway that night, so I was really happy I got to sleep in my own bed.
