TWiT Cottage

Bunny and I headed up to Petaluma today to go to the Vintage Bank Antiques store (and a bunch of other little antiques stores too), but while we were in the area, I wanted to stop by Leo Laporte's TWiT cottage (This Week in Tech) - just for a look around. I've listened to TWiT and MacBreak weekly for a long time, and used to watch Leo back on The Screen Savers when Tech TV was still on. Next week TWiT moves to its new location down the street, and as we walked in we were suddenly signed up to watch a recording of a show called The Weekly GizWiz. So we took our seats and sat in while Leo and Dick DeBartolo talked about gadgets for the next hour. At the end of the show, Leo posed for pictures and put a TWiT fez on my head - he also gave us some stickers and lanyards as a thank you.

Wordle!

Three posts in one day - I'm getting back into the groove of things.
I learned about a new website today- wordle.net - a site that lets you make images based on custom word lists. I made a few using a list I made up of some of San Francisco's best.

Latest Gadget

With a new apartment comes the inevitable new gadget - a TV. A gift to myself, I went for a TV with almost as much connectivity as my iPad - it has internet connectivity built in and streams from Netflix, Pandora, Amazon, etc... Oh and it's big. Seen here the box just barely fit into my trunk when I picked it up from UPS; and next to my iPad for size comparison. It's happy on the new stand I got for it over the weekend (seen in the living room picture). It also has the most amazing remote control ever - the keyboard slides out from the bottom to help me tweet and post on facebook right from the TV.

I've Moved!

Last week I started my new job at USF, so obviously I live a little bit closer to the campus now. It's been a long few weeks and I'm still getting settled in, but everything in my new apartment is starting to come together. Here's a sneak peek at my new living room, more to come as art gets put up on the walls, etc.
