I'm really proud of what I've put together, so I just wanted to show off a bit of how the living room is coming along. I've cleaned up the wiring around the TV - I'm especially proud of the desk and the completely hidden wires save for 2 power cables and 1 speaker wire. Hanging above the desk is a panoramic photo of Los Angeles I took and had printed out as a triptych of 8x10s. Just yesterday I bought a piece that, in my opinion, makes the room much more livable: that little table next to the sofa. It's 17" tall (super short) has a 15" square top, and brings so much character to the room. I found it on Craigslist yesterday afternoon, and by evening I drove out to the Mission to buy it. It's no secret that I'm a fan of the mid-century modern styled furniture, objects that have a retro-futurism look and feel to them. This fits in perfectly. The room isn't finished obviously - I have more artwork that needs to be hung up on the walls, a second tv stand to allow for more media components, and a console table or credenza to take the place of the folding table the lamp is sitting on.
But for now, my living room is such a comfortable spot to relax in on a Friday evening, winding down from the long work week.
